Not So Grand Jury
Three lawyers (and sometimes guests) discuss the legal accuracies of tv shows and movies.
Not So Grand Jury
Runaway Jury
Geoff, Mike, and Derrick discuss Runaway Jury (2003), an adaptation of John Grisham's 1996 novel The Runaway Jury. We discuss jury consultants/tampering, the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act (PLCAA), and calculation of special and general damages.
On the damages section, Derrick discusses a real-life Jury Verdict Form from a 2017 trial that was held in the same Court as the movie. Here's a copy of that form: Lavigne v. Allied Shipyard, Inc., et al., Jury Verdict Form.
The sponsor of the podcast is Moore Law PLLC, a law firm that focuses on business law and general commercial litigation. If you would like to set up a free consultation, please fill out the form located at https://www.mooreatty.com/contact.
Thank you, as always, to our editor Colleen Moore.
